December Featured Wellness Ambassador: Sheryl Williams

What is your field/area of expertise?

I have had a full time holistic health practice for 30 years in Louisville.  I have focused on nutritional consulting, cranial/sacral work and for the past 20 years added Jin Shin Jyutsu (JSJ) to my practice.  I teach Jin Shin Jyutsu self help classes as well as other classes and am a JSJ co-organizer for the state of Kentucky.

How did you get into this line of work?

I originally got into alternative holistic approach to health because of my own health issues.  Throughout my childhood I had bronchitis with tendencies to sore throats and sometimes going into pneumonia.  Then when I was 29, I was told by a doctor I would have cancer by the time I was 35 and there was nothing that could be done about it.  My mother died of cancer at age 50 and I was having early stage symptoms.  My inner awareness was that it didn’t have to happen and that is when I started following alternative practices.

How does your work contribute to the wellness of our community?

I do enjoy showing people how to balance and harmonize themselves through Jin Shin Jyutsu, balanced eating and drinking good water.  I feel education is a very important part of helping people shift awareness.  I feel my real business is development of inner awareness through holistic philosophies.

Why do you love Rainbow Blossom?

I love Rainbow Blossom because of the size of the business and being owned locally it is able to recognize and shift to carrying new and unique products.  There have been several times I have learned about a product on the internet then walked into Rainbow Blossom and found it.  I love being able to pick it up right here in town.
