A Taste of Yoga: Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a deep practice that encourages the body to relax rather than engage. Yin is as much a mental practice as it is a physical practice, moving inwardly to find a balanced state of peace. In this practice we focus on releasing the connective tissue “fascia” to create range of motion in our joints and muscles by targeting ligaments, bones and joints. As this practice emphasizes stillness and silence, Yin Yoga prepares both the body and the mind for deeper experiences in meditation. Yin Yoga is the perfect practice to counter-balance a busy and fast-paced life style. Please bring a bolster or pillow, block, and towel or blanket if you have it available.  Some props provided. 

About the Instructor: Carrie Irwin is a registered yoga instructor with the Yoga Alliance and has completed her trainings through Asheville Yoga Center. She teaches all over Louisville at Bend and Zen Hot Yoga, Yoga on Baxter, Hot Yoga Louisville,  Blairwood Fitness Club, and a weekly class every Saturday right here at Rainbow Blossom.
