Ecstatic dancing utilizes the body’s interaction with music to assist in shifting participants into a shamanic journeying state. Though this state is not always reached, or is simply not the goal of some participants, the dance holds power in allowing participants to express and explore their bodies, minds, and emotions through music and the dancing process.
