Rainbow Blossom Highlands Market Celebrates Prestigious LEED Green Building Certification

Rainbow Blossom celebrates LEED certification with a plaque hanging ceremony and reception at its newest location, the Highlands Market, on Thursday, September 2nd at 6:30 PM

Louisville, Kentucky (August 10, 2010) - The Rainbow Blossom Highlands Market has been awarded LEED Certification and they are having a plaque hanging ceremony to celebrate their achievement. Mary Lou Northern, Senior Advisor to the Mayor, will be making remarks. The event will be September 2 at 6:30 pm at the Highlands Market, 3046 Bardstown Road. A reception will follow the ceremony. The event is open to the public.

Opened in July 2009, the Highlands Market Rainbow Blossom is the first retail store in the state of Kentucky to receive LEED certification. Summer Auerbach, COO, eagerly awaited approval of the certification. "We've had a lot of firsts. Rainbow Blossom was the first retailer in the area to have certified organic products, the first to carry many now popular products like frozen yogurt, soy milk and Perrier. It feels natural that we'd be the first retailer to receive LEED certification," she says. ...
