Rainbow Blossom gives away 800 free tree seedlings to honor Earth Day on Monday, April 22nd
Louisville, Kentucky (April 17, 2013) - On Monday, April 22 Rainbow Blossom will join more than 500 million people in 175 countries across the world to celebrate Earth Day 2013. To honor the day Rainbow Blossom will giveaway free Kentucky-grown tree seedlings at all five of its locations beginning at 9 am. This marks Rainbow Blossom's seventh annual free seedling giveaway. The seedlings are available while supplies last - one seedling per customer. No purchase is required. Eight hundred native trees, Eastern Redbuds and Roughleaf Dogwoods, will be given away. Each seedling comes with species-specific informational cards, planting instructions, and other optional handouts. The event is sponsored by Nordic Naturals, makers of the world's finest omega 3 fish oils harvested using sustainable fishing practices.
Planting trees is a fun and interactive way to get the whole family outdoors and involved in Earth Day. Considered by many to be the birth of the modern environmental movement, Earth day began in the United States in 1970 to raise awareness of the environment and to encourage efforts to preserve it.
